Greetings to all. My name is Larry Souders. I am a reference librarian at the Stillwater, OK public library. I am also working on my Master's Degree in Educational Technology at Oklahoma State University. This Wiki is being designed for my class EDTC 5103, Advanced Computer Application in the Classroom, Spring 2011. My instructor is the ever patient Dr. Susan Stansberry.
I would like to state here on my Home Page the burning desire I have to improve the Baby Boomers understanding of the Internet and assist them in the learning process of navigation. My two years at the Stillwater Public Library has opened my eyes to the difficulty this particular group of people in our society confront on a daily basis. An example of the situation being imposed on this particular generation is the need to file their taxes on the computer. The State of Oklahoma is no longer offering Income Tax Forms for its citizens. The state wants to save the money it cost to print these forms and the State needs to offer a program to educate their citizens on the use of email and filing documents. I would like to be a leader in this undertaking. Remember that as you age learning becomes a difficult process and those who would educate this generation need be compassionate and patient and these are gifts I have learned to cultivate and share.
