Darci and I used Skype to communicate with each other. She came in crystal clear both visual and auditory. I was able to be heard by Darci but I was having camera difficulties. Overcame the Camera difficulties and have skyped with several parties since. I have been aware of Skype for a while but never used it myself until we had this assignment.
Exploration & Filtration: After using Skype to communicate with Darci I followed up with communication with my Son and Daughter-in-Law who live in Virginia. It was so wonderful to see and talk with them face to face on-line. The process is not difficult and I explored even further by hooking up with my other Son who lives in Washington State.
Learning: The process just basically required doing. Following the on-line directions and getting my camera to actually function. I have been in some Skype conferences where I was just an observer and by becoming the broadcaster I have a better idea of the process. I know that I will be using Skype very often now. I also feel that this learning experience will enable me to be able to instruct new users with this process.
Application: I know that I will be using all the features Skype has to offer in the library where I am employed and will also be offering some classes in the future at the library to enlighten the general public who has interest in Skype and its strength for video conferencing and classroom lectures.
